THE DIRTY DOZEN

THE SOUTH WESTERN BIKE RIDE

Saturday 14th April 2012


A circular route of approximately 600 miles - Can be started from any of the 12 points - to be completed on your own or in groups.

£10 entry fee per person to include event patch if event is completed.

To enter download entry form (and sponsor forms if you wish to raise sponsorship) from forum website fill in and send entry form with entry fee to address on the form prior to event.

Aim - to visit all 12 towns in each of the southern area counties (see list) in any order you choose, on the same day.

Please note this is not a time trial or race the object of the exercise is merely to visit all 12 points on the day/date, as a guide to timings 12 hours should be achievable but is not part of the challenge.

FREEDOM TO CHOOSE WHEN YOU DO THE RIDE

although the initial event is dated above, anybody wishing to follow the same route under the same conditions later is welcome to do so, patches will be available on an ongoing basis for those that wish to try the event at a time of their choosing provided the required proof is sent in.

Insurance for this event is not covered by the legion it is your own responsibility.

  • Somerset - Taunton
  • Bristol - Bristol
  • Wiltshire - Chippenham
  • Berkshire - Reading
  • Surrey - Guildford
  • Kent - Tunbridge Wells
  • East Sussex - Brighton
  • West Sussex - Chichester
  • Hampshire - Southampton
  • Dorset - Dorchester

PROOF OF COMPLETION

At each location a picture is to be taken of you or your bike at any building stating the towns name or verifiable landmark in the town or the town name plate “Welcome to etc”, time and date to be written on the picture. At the end of the event you send your name and address, pictures and any money collected to the address on the entry/sponsor form. All net proceeds to The Poppy Appeal.
